Tikhvin Ferroalloy's (TFZ) acquisition made Yılmaden the 4th biggest producer in the global chromium industry and reinforced its position as the world’s 2nd biggest producer in the high quality high carbon ferrochrome market.
Tikhvin Ferroalloy started activities in April 2007. It is located in Tikhvin, about 200 kilometers east of Saint Petersburg, Russia. YILDIRIM Group acquired the plant in 2013 as a subsidiary of Yılmaden Holding.
Tikhvin Ferroalloy is among Russia’s largest producers of high carbon ferrochrome, and it is the most modern ferroalloy manufacturing plant of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Tikhvin Ferroalloy produces high carbon ferrochromium with over 69.5% chromium content. The company’s production volume alone accounts for 30% of Russia’s high carbon ferrochrome production.
